In late September of this year a category 4 hurricane, ian, made landfall and tore its way across southern and central florida, as well as, carribean and south carolina. It has been one of the deadliest hurricanes to affect florida since 1935 and has resulted in an estimated $1 billion dollars in damage.

Home Owners, Renters, Small Businesses & Non-Profits

Homeowners may apply for up to $200,000 to replace or repair their primary residence.


Renters and homeowners may borrow up to $40,000 to replace or repair personal property — such as clothing, furniture, cars, and appliances — damaged or destroyed in a disaster.


These loans cover disaster losses not fully covered by insurance or other sources. Proceeds from insurance coverage on home or property may be deducted from the eligible loan amount.

Helping You to Rebuild Stronger

SBA offers low interest disaster loans to homeowners and small businesses impacted by declared natural and other disasters. Eligible SBA disaster loan borrowers may choose to receive expanded funding to help mitigate their home or business against future disasters. SBA disaster loans can be increased up to 20% to make building upgrades.

Small Businesses, Agricultural Cooperatives, & Most Private Non-Profits

If you have suffered substantial economic injury and are one of the following types of businesses located in a declared disaster area, you may be eligible for an SBA EIDL:

The first step for individuals and businesses needing assistance should be through the toll-free tele-registration hotline, available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency at 1-800-621-FEMA

florida small business emergency bridge loans

Loans are available up to $50,000 per eligible applicant. Loans made under this program are short-term, personal loans using State of Florida funds – they are not grants and must be repaid. Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loans require repayment by the approved applicant.


florida disaster unemployment assistance

Employees, Entrepreneurs, & Gig Workers

This program offers a financial stipend to unemployed individuals (including the self-employed and gig workers) who are experiencing a disruption in their employment as a result of Hurricane Ian. Employment benefits commence the week of 09/25/2022 and the program will be in effect until 04/1/2023.
